Description of the Works:
The works involve the realignment of 2.1km (1.2km of online road reconstruction) of the main N21 on the Tralee side of Newcastle West in County Limerick on Behalf of Limerick City & County Council.
Realignment of ancillary local roads
Realignment of streams and construction of landowner accommodation roads
Earthworks 50,000 m3
20,000m2 of resurfacing
7 No. Precast Box Culverts with the largest being 2.2m high, 5m wide & 20m in length
Laying watermain, Diversion of ESB and Eircom services
Placing road studs
Erecting road signs and installing and maintaining a Traffic Management System.
Crash Barrier & Envirnmental Noise Barrier Installation
Post & Rail Fencing
Works were carried out on the N67 with an AADT > 15,000 with a Speed Limit of 100 Kph. Traffic Management was designed,implemented and monitored through out the works by P&D Lydon.
P&D Lydons (PSCS) In house health and Safety Officer was responsible for the safety of all men on site during the works.this involved,regular site visits,site inspections,safety meetings,all the time safety develpoment
A Stage 2 & 3 Road Safety Audit was carried out on the Temporary Traffic Management that was designed,implemeted,maintained by P&D Lydon.
