Description of the Works:

The Works forming the subject matter of this Contract, described as the Claregalway and Milltown Sewerage Schemes – Contract No.2 - Civil Engineering Works for the Proposed Sewer Networks, involves the construction of a new foul sewer network in the villages of Claregalway and Milltown.

Provision is being made for the construction of future pumping stations and future wastewater treatment plants in Claregalway and Milltown under Contract No. 3 the Design Build Operate Contract. The construction of the pumping stations, some of the rising mains and the wastewater treatment plants does not form part of this contract.
 
  • Traffic Management deisgn, set up, monitoring and Management through the Villages of Claregalway and Milltown.
  • Claregalway works carried out on the National Road networks of the N17 and N18 with an AADT of approx 22,000- Urban Area – With large volume of Pedestrian and Cyclist
  • Milltown works were carried out on the National Road network of the N17 with and AADT of approx 20,000
Claregalway:
  • Works involved the laying of 2.5km of 300mm Polysewer Twin wall in Claregalway- Foul Sewer
  • Along with 650mm of 110mm SDR17 pipe- Watermain
  • All house connections are in place for future connection to new Sewage Plant
  • Road Reinstatement
  • Re-lining
Milltown:
  • Works involved the laying of 1.5km of 225mm Polysewer Twin wall in Milltown- Foul Sewer
  • Tunnelling under the Clare River running through the village – In coordination with the Inland Fisheries Board
  • All house connection are in place for future connection to new Sewage Plant
  • Road Reinstatement
