Project Description

‘The Raheen to Quinn’s Cross R510 Active Travel Scheme in County Limerick is a project aimed at enhancing pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure along a 980-meter stretch between Raheen Roundabout and Quinn’s Cross Roundabout. Upon completion, the scheme will provide safer and more efficient routes for pedestrians and cyclists, promoting active travel in the region.’

The scope of the project included:

  • Construction of segregated cycle tracks.
  • Upgraded footpaths.
  • Optimized traffic lane widths.
  • Improved crossing facilities.
  • Bus stop enhancements.
  • Implementation of temporary traffic management systems to facilitate construction.
  • Minimized disruption to road users.
  • Front-of-school safety measures.
  • As of mid-February 2025, the project is in its final stages, with night works being conducted to complete the remaining tasks.
