Established in 1999, P&D Lydon began their journey in the Plant Hire and Civil Engineering industry. Firstly, starting out in the locality of Galway & Mayo County Councils and Telecom Eireann.

In early 2000’s, P&D Lydon begin expanding their workforce. Contracts Management teams, Health & Safety, Finance and Site Management teams were taken on to help pursue the ongoing and growing business. Large contracts such as Sewerage Schemes, Watermains, Road Constructions and Realignments ensued.

Significant growth was accomplished by P&D Lydon in these years, as they become more Nationally acknowledged. Along with growing investment in Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental departments, P&D Lydon became highly recognized by Ireland’s prestigious awards sector; winning multiple awards such as the NISO Awards, All-Ireland Occupational Safety Awards, while also gaining multiple Platinum and Gold gradings throughout the decade in the ESB Contractor Safety Grading. ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 were also achieved. In 2019, with the ever-expanding team and fleet, the company made the big move to new purpose-built head offices and main garage.

As business cultivates, P&D Lydon begin introducing more Sustainable and Environmental strategies into their works. They open the gates for a greener future by introducing Electric Vehicles into their work fleet, and also the installation of solar panels into their head offices and garages. 2025 marked a big year for P&D Lydon as they went on to celebrate their Silver Anniversary. Along with this, P&D celebrated winning the ‘Excellence in Business’ award that year also.
