Formed in 1999, P&D Lydon Ltd is a family owned and one of Ireland’s most progressive civil engineering contractors offering a modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly solutions to our client’s needs. Our portfolio includes projects completed for Ireland’s main utility providers, ESB, Irish Water, Irish Rail as well as many local authorities and private clients.

Our strength is our people, our reputation and success are due to the experience, skill, teamwork, and dedication of our people. Along with our workforce we maintain a comprehensive fleet of plant, machinery, trucks, and vans to enable us complete projects safely and within budget and timeframes. As a testimony to the efforts of our workforce we constructed and relocated to our new state of the art head offices in 2019.

Our vision is to continually improve to provide our clients with construction and civil engineering solutions using the most modern construction practices, to protect our environment using renewable materials, recycling existing materials and carefully reinstating the natural environment at the end of our projects. Quality Management Systems

P&D Lydon assures all their clients that systems are in place to manage projects in an organised and professional manner from planning right through to handover. Each project is assessed in detail in advance, so that the company is confident that it can commit the resources appropriate to ensure satisfactory delivery to the client.  

All suppliers and subcontractors are drawn from an approved list of suppliers with a proven track record of performance and reliability. Drawings and other contract documents are carefully registered and controlled, so that correct information is available to site at the earliest possible time, and revisions to client requirements are not overlooked.

Each contract, large or small, benefits from a uniquely produced Contract Plan.  This ensures that progress and quality are monitored in an appropriate way for that project, and corrective actions are identified and followed through where required.

P&D Lydon Ltd have recently gained the Quality Management Systems accreditation: ISO 9001:2015. 

Environmental

P&D Lydon are committed to implementing industry good practice in our approach to the environment. We conduct our activities within the legal and statutory requirements laid down and take regard of local authority waste management plans.  

We recognise that our activities have an impact on the environment, but we endeavour to minimise these impacts where possible. We complete thorough reviews of the practices carried out throughout our company and have developed systems to manage our environmental objectives. 

Our environmental policy and our procedures are regularly audited through our established Environmental Management System. In addition to conducting a 6-month review, we regularly monitor government environmental initiatives and seek to continually improve the effectiveness of our environmental measures.

Our environmental management system is accredited to ISO 14001:2015 standards. We also hold a national waste collection permit for removal of construction type wastes from sites to permitted tips.

Health & Safety Policy

P&D Lydon’s Health & Safety policy is that work will comply with statutory provisions and all reasonably practicable measures will be taken to avoid risk to employees or others.

Management, supervisors, and staff are responsible for implementing this Policy throughout the Company. They must ensure that health and safety considerations are given priority in planning and day-to-day supervision of work and that the Company Safety Statement is always adhered to.

P&D Lydon have over the years developed a successful and impressive Health and Safety Management System which is accredited to ISO:45001.

P&D Lydon hold certification under the CIF Safe-T-Cert Scheme and have been an A-Rated Contractor for several years under the scheme due to continuous improvement and extremely high achievements.

P&D Lydon also have also received further recognition for the management systems in place. In our first year of entering, achieving second place in the Team of the Year Category in the Health and Safety Excellence Awards 2020. 

All employees and sub-contractors are expected to co-operate in implementing our safety policy and must carry out their work, so far as is reasonably practicable, without risk to themselves or others.

 
The main objectives of our safety policy are:
