Installation and Replacement of Automated Bollard System
- Location: William & Shop Street, Galway City
- Client: Galway City Council
About this Project
The works we carried out in the busy city centre commercial trading and pedestrian area of Shop street.
The purpose of the scheme was to provide clear delineation between shared space area and footpath areas while upgrading all drainage and failed pavement surfaces.
Great care had to be taken during the excavation stage not to damage or disrupt any existing live service while still maintaining access to all properties and allowing through traffic for commercial deliveries etc.
The biggest challenge in the project was not only trying to carry out the necessary construction works but to maintain access/egress to all properties along with managing the thousands of pedestrians traversing through the site on a 24 hours basis.
