N21 Newcastle West Pavement Improvement & Pedestrian Bridge

  • Client: Limerick City & County Council
  • Location: Newcastle West, Limerick

About this Project

This contract required the manufacture off-site of a new architecturally designed bridge in Stainless Steel.

The 24m long steel bridge was transported to site in one single piece and lifted into position using a large 300ton crane and placed onto two preformed cast in-situ concrete abutments.

The bridge was constructed in the busy town of Newcastlewest in an urban environment on the N20.

A specialist temporary traffic management plan was implemented as part of the project to lift the bridge into place.
